Kitchen Thyme™ brings the best of both worlds colliding together! Kitchen Thyme™ is a 3,500 square foot kitchen incubator, cooperative kitchen, commissary kitchen, a test kitchen, as well as a dual use facility to bring together both the consumer and the commercial culinary artists in two separate facilities under one roof for rent by the hour.
Kitchen Thyme™ can help new businesses get off the ground, our affordable kitchen space can help established businesses expand. Our hourly rates mean you only pay for what you use. You can start with us, grow with us, and when the time is right, move from our kitchen to your own.
Kitchen Thyme™ has taken the considerable risk of opening and operating not just one kitchen, but two commercial kitchens state certified under the Virginia Department of Agriculture Consumer and Safety and the Henrico County Health Department.

THE KITCHENS
You’re not dreaming here in our dream kitchen!
The Dream Kitchen facility is a 1,500 square feet of including over 400 square feet of kitchen! There is plenty of space to entertain 100 people and fully equipped with Wolf™ and SubZero™ state of the art equipment. A 60 inch dual fuel range island is the flagship of the facility, complete with a steamer and enough counter space to seat 4 people for a small dining experience. With two single 30 inch convection wall ovens that are side by side, no need to bend over here and strain your back makes the fluidity of this kitchen easy to make any meal. SubZero™ glass front door refrigerator that holds a sheet pan on the shelf with ease and it has a bottom freezer. Also, there is a dual temperature wine refrigerator and a drink refrigerator in the fully functional bar.
The Dream Kitchen will be used by chefs for cooking lessons and for anyone who is out of space in their own kitchen at home and wants to do the heavy lifting in the cooking on their own. The Dream Kitchen will be fully equipped with smallwares and serving platters. Kitchen Thyme™ has also built relationships with reputable vendors to rent tables, chairs, linens, china, silverware, crystal to make any event special.
The Dream Kitchen cooking lessons will feature chefs from around central Virginia teaching classes ranging from classic French cooking, canning, ethnic foods from around the world, baking cakes and pastry making.
The Professional Kitchen facility is a 1,500 square feet commercial kitchen including over 1,000 square feet of kitchen! The Professional Kitchen is equipped with a 10 burner with double ovens, a double stacked convection ovens, deep fryer, griddle, steam jacketed kettle, braiser, 60 quart Hobart mixer, 8x14 walk in cooler and freezer, low temperature dishwasher and plenty of prep tables and dry lockable storage space for your business needs. You won’t have to bring your smallwares every time you come, because you can rent dry storage space and leave your items, so you can use them time and time again.
The Professional Kitchen will have the versatility of use for caterers, bakers, and chefs. You will be able to make your best foods for any event and even if you wanted to make it a special chef’s table dining experience for customers while using the commercial kitchen, no problem! We can make the Professional Kitchen into a private dining experience for your special guests.
